Oh what a difference some back stitching always makes! For those of you who missed by post showing my pussy willow spring finish last time, here is what it looked like..... Shame on me!
The chart doesn't call for back stitching, but I went ahead and added it last night after I initialed and dated it,,,,,,,and here it is now with it's new look! Much better.
Back stitching always seems to make the piece pop and I love it! I know many of my stitching sisters don't care for back stitching, but I really don't mind it. If I have a large piece with a lot of it, I'll stitch it as I go along.
Now have any of you heard about the 321 Cake? Well this house has, and it's mighty good. I used the angel food cake mix and a dark chocolate cake mix. Mix them both together in a gallon zip lock bag. Here it is before.
There was more than this, but I've already given some away! Anyway. Put three tablespoons of the mix in a bowl or cup and add two tablespoons of water. Mix well and then mirco-wave it for one minute. 3 2 1 and here it is!
This time I put a spoonful of marshmallow on top with some chocolate syrup. Very good, and just enough for one serving.
Well. Tonight's supper is in the crock pot and it is a beautiful day outside. I just may go out and clean up one of the small flower beds. Puttered all morning so now is do whatever I want time. Looks like Bill and Riley are resting this afternoon as well. They're checking out the neighborhood.
Until next time, be well. Be safe and don't forget to "feel the colors".
You can really see the difference the backstitching makes. i have that chart somewhere, have the fuzzy stuff to do it, just haven't done it. Love your finish.
ReplyDeleteCute piece. I agree the back stitching did bring the piece more to life. Great idea and great job on it.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on Pussy Willows!
