Finished!

This worked up so quickly and I just love the colors in it.  I'm hoping to frame it myself.  It's for me and a small piece, so I can't mess it up too badly......Can I?

I took  "GiGi" to Michaels today.  After working on her forever it seems with the Hardanger work and all, I finally mounted her on the fabric that my sweet Lisa picked out.  They'll mount it on foam board so the margins are all nice and even, and it will be sent to Lisa.  Last, but not least, my son, Allen, will make a frame for it.  Praise the Lord that she is finally really and truly finished.

Looked at Ross' today while I was out and about for a dress to wear to my son's wedding.  Still couldn't find anything.  Good thing it isn't until May as I think it just may take me that long to find something to wear.
Will be going into Jacksonville this Saturday to check out the stores there.  Oh my goodness! Jacksonville? Yes! Red Lobster or Olive Garden or even Cracker Barrel for lunch!

Well my sweet followers and friends.  I hear that there is rain and snow going on right this minute in different areas.  So ya'll stay safe and warm.  Stay in if you can.  Love each and every one of you.

     Remember to "Feel the colors".

    1. Hey Beth! I'd love to pick you up for an Olive Garden visit! That would be fun.

I can certainly understand your mom getting a dress way ahead. My son's wedding is in May and I started looking right after the new year. I'm really far more comfortable in jeans or a long skirt. Dress slacks and all. So for me to go out and look for a dress that doesn't go to or below my ankles was hard for me. I did though, find one which I think is perfect. It fits well and will be real pretty with some shoes and jewelry.

I will indeed stop over to visit you at your blog. Wanted to get all my comments answered first. Hate to miss anyone. I'm looking forward to getting to know you and becoming friends. Come back soon.

  6. I think that would be a great starter piece for framing yourself. I did a tutorial about framing yourself on www.stitchingthenightaway.com (I'm a guest blogger) last month. I started framing stuff myself because I just can't afford to put out $50+ every time I finish something. I'm not perfect at it yet but I've gotten pretty good about getting things straight (which I think is the hardest part).

    1. Hi Joy! Thank you so much for coming by for a visit. I will be over to visit you at your blog as well.

I'll be watching your tutorial before starting my framing on this piece. I would love to get good as it as I agree with you about the high cost of framing. Even the smallest things are sky high in my opinion. Do you do your own matting as well?

Isn't it great to meet new people and make some great friends! So glad you're here.

  9. Hi Linda, Your piece is awesome. I cross-stitch, but not counted. You will find a dress, but it does take time because you know you are on display at your children's wedding. Or at least that is what I like to say. I had a wonderful friend who did a lot of sewing and loved to be involved in weddings. She went with me to help pick out my dress. Isn't the party fun. Have fun. A New Missouri friend.

    1. Hello Shirley! So glad you came by to meet me and all. I'm so looking forward to getting to know you. Once I answer my comments I will indeed be over to visit your blog.

I did find a dress, and I agree with you. Everyone always wants to see how the mother's are dressed as well as the bride herself. I'll be looking for shoes and some jewelry to go with it as well.

Come back soon my Missouri friend!
