Happy Thanksgiving to all my faithful followers and friends. We're looking forward to dinner at two with my son and his family as well as lots of friends. Always good company and fun. I've got some Buttercup squash baking now and will start another dish later to take. I have so much to be thankful for this day as I think we all do. The good is so easy to overlook sometimes, but for me, this year has had its trials and so far, they have all been taken care of. God is good.
Here's a better picture of one of my cacti. It's been moved to my dining table and so far so good. Haven't had any buds drop. In the past these cacti wouldn't
do a thing for me. They wouldn't die but wouldn't grow either. I could buy one all budded pretty like, and bring it home. Within a week, the buds would drop off the plant and that would be it. No more growth would appear and it would never set buds again. So, needless to say, I'm so happy with these. Here's another that I bought last year and it too is putting on a show of the prettiest colored blossoms.
I've been relaxing here and there by working on the cross stitch piece. Here it is as of last night. I am so close to finishing it up and it has been an enjoyable stitch. Loving the bright colors.
Well the morning is getting on and I have to get a few things finished up here. You all have a wonderful day and safe travels as well. Enjoy the long weekend. Love to each and every one of you my friends and followers.
Until next time, remember to feel those colors.
So sweet..
ReplyDeleteHappy thanksgiving dear xxx
A wonderful family day today and I pray for the same for you Cucki. You're such a sweet friend.
DeleteOnce the flower buds have formed any sudden change to this cactus whether in position, light or draught, will cause the flowers to drop. I have one the same but not half so pretty at the moment. Best wishes
ReplyDeleteThank you for that information Sheryl. That would explain the buds dropping after one is bought and brought home. I would love to see a picture of yours. I'm afraid since I can finally grow these, that it just may become another hobby. Time will tell.
DeleteThank you for your comments on my blog. I'll send a photo of my cactus when it's fully in flower, as yet the buds are just starting to open. Yours is fabulous
DeleteHappy Thanksgiving to you and your family, Your Christmas cactus if so pretty and made me think of my mother's. Hers bloomed all year round. Your embroidering is so pretty and I love seeing the picture of your family. Your little one is so adorable. Have a wonderful day. Hugs and Prayers from Your Missouri Friend.
ReplyDeleteIt has always amazed me when I see other's Christmas cacti! I have seen the most pretty ones in nooks of people's homes that were just beautiful. I remember one I saw years back that sat on a stairwell in water year round. I had to have been three feet across and just plain covered in blossoms.
DeleteYou have a wonderful Thanksgiving and a weekend full of blessings my friend.
Lovely stitches and cacti! I know there is some care in getting the blossoms to set ~ timing of watering, temp, etc. Yours are lovely!
ReplyDeleteHope your Thanksgiving day was extra blessed!
ReplyDeleteI love your Thanksgiving stitch!
