Just a few more "boxes" to go around "GiGi" and I'll be done with the Hardanger embroidery. Remember "GiGi"? I was done with the cross stitching and was going to get her matted and framed. Then my sweet Lisa told me that she wanted it done as it shows on the front of the chart. So, she picked up the material she wanted and sent it all back to me. I was afraid of the Hardanger as I had never done it in my life. I then dove in! Next step is to cut out the center of each box and hem the outside edges. I will show you once totally really, really done. This is what I have done so far though. About four more boxes to go. Oh! The spots you see on this are from a prism I have in the window.
Here's a close up of the embroidery.
I ordered for the first time, a piece of fabric from Leslie at "Under The Sea Fabrics" and it came the other day. I wish I could say that the picture below does it justice but it does not! The colors are beautiful. Very jewel like, deep and rich. She does beautiful work and I will order again in the future.
Just about finished working in my small front garden today. A big difference. Will finish raking it tomorrow and it will be all set for the winter when it arrives. It was a gorgeous day to be outside.
Must let you go my sweet followers and friends. Until next time please be safe and well and don't forget to "feel the colors".

I didn't think that Gigi could be even more beautiful than she was; but with this border, she truly is! Good for you for taking the plunge with the Hardanger... you are very brave!! I can't wait to see the finished product :-)
ReplyDeleteMy Gigi is in hibernation for the time being. I have been working on something Halloween, and then I have some things to finish up for Christmas.
Gigi is so very beautiful. I really like the border, it makes it unique.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Mary. I have to confess now......I got to the very last square to embroider and found that I was two threads off! I couldn't believe that after all the counting and all that I had messed up. So! Out of 211 total squares I have to remove and redo 126! I found the mistakes, two, that I made. So I'm redoing a lot of the embroidery, but "GiGi" has been a very enjoyable stitch. Thank you so much for stopping in Mary.
