I decided to make a few changes to my blog by getting a Valentine theme going. I can't
figure out how to change the color of the blog post's titles, so orange they remain. If anyone can help me with that particular thing, please let me know. The orange was pretty neat looking when I had a fall theme going, but now it looks pretty ugly!
The header picture is actually my Valentine decorations for the dining room table. Most of the things were made last year, but the tiny stuffed hearts and the Valentine Bird pillow are new this year. Dresses up the whole room when this is all in place. Once again, as last year, I've enjoyed working with the pretty pinks and reds.
The pink scarf I was working on is done and on it's way. A little crocheting was fun to do, and now I'm stitching again and also just now started a shawl. Only into the first five rows but here's what it will look like when all finished.
The pattern is very easy and it only takes one skein of the called for yarn. So I thought that in the evenings I just may work on this. I'll keep you updated on the progress of this.
A tough day yesterday. A dental appointment at the periodontist once again, and for some reason the local anesthetic refuses to work anymore. With two teeth in the back with roots exposed, needless to say, it's quite an ordeal when not totally numb. Takes a lot out of me and once home, I slept for nearly the whole rest of the day. This certainly isn't a pretty picture of me below. I kind of look dead don't I?! I did want ya'll to see how caring Riley is though. He stayed in the bedroom with me, and when I moved to the couch, he came with me. Stayed right with me until I finally got up. I think he likes me!
One day this week we were outside all afternoon working in a couple of garden areas. It was absolutely beautiful. Mr. Bill put a couple of rows of peas in and I weeded a perennial bed. Come on spring! To think that up in New England they're getting pounded with the storm of all storms right this minute. Massachusetts! All roads have just been officially closed! Only emergency vehicles are allowed to be out at this time. I cannot imagine still living in NH at this time. Keep all of New England in prayer, as there will be power outages and accidents for sure. Stay in. Stay warm.
Just one more snapshot of our cherry tree outback. This isn't a great one, but will give you an idea of just how much it is blooming this year.
Now I must let you go my dear sweet friends and followers. It has been so much fun meeting so many new people. I'm looking forward to getting to know you all. Until next time. Be safe. Stay warm and last of all, don't forget to "feel the colors".

I hope you're feeling better after yesterday. Riley is adorable and looks like he was an attentive little caretaker. I love your hearts and Valentine display. Makes me want to stitch something Valentine-y!

Hi Cathy! I am feeling great today. It was a tough day for sure yesterday though. We rescued Riley seven years ago when we found him in a pound. As soon as he saw us, he came to us and laid down on his back. Now how could we say "No"? LOL. We love him dearly. I really enjoyed working with the pinks and reds for a change. Thanks for stopping in and have a wonderful weekend.
DeleteAwe hope Riley helped you feel better. Animals always seem to know when something is wrong with us. Is that a cherry blossom tree.
ReplyDeleteHi Barb~That is indeed a cherry tree. A kind that produces flowers but no fruit. It was about 18" high when I put it in and thought I was crazy doing it, but now it's about 12 feet high. It grows very fast.
DeleteRiley is a good companion and loves hubby and I very much as we do him.
Thanks for stopping in and I hope you return soon.
Feel better soon. Riley was a great help....and I'm sure he didn't mind the extra comfy spot with you on the couch! When you're feeling better and want to change the color when signed in on your blog go to design/template/customize/advanced and then scroll down to make any changes. Have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you Debbie. I'm back to normal today but yesterday was indeed a tough one. When I get to where I need to be about the Post Title, I only have the option to pick a font and the size of it. I see nothing at all about the color for it. Thank you Debbie. I'm still hoping that maybe there's a secret to the color changing thing. Maybe it's hiding or something. LOL. Thanks for your help though and please come back again.
DeleteHello from a new follower! I love your Valentine display. I am amazed that your husband was planting this week and your tree has blossoms. We got 7" of snow yesterday in WI. Crazy weather patterns across the states!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for stopping in Victoria. I went over to your blog and now I'm your newest follower. I love your blog and I am a Christian as well.
DeleteYour needlework is beautiful and to get all that you done with the family you have and home schooling as well, I must say that you amaze me. I do hope that by now, all the children are better.
We can plant here in eastern NC quite early and the peas to well in the cooler weather. It's actually nearly time for the little bit of broccoli, lettuce and kale also. Speaking of snow though. New England is getting hit real bad tonight and tomorrow. Massachusetts officially closed all roads early this afternoon and New Jersey was following that example. Up to three feet is predicted in MA, NH and ME. Need to keep all in prayer as I'm sure there will be lots of power outages, and the people along the coast of New Jersey have already lost so much.
Thanks so much for stopping in, and come back again soon.
You are sweet! One more case of chicken pox broke out 2 days ago. No fun but neither is dental work! Glad that you are feeling better! Blessings to you!
DeleteLinda- I'm sorry you've had a bad sort of week-- your little pup looks pretty comfy on your lap!! What a gorgeous tree-- makes me long even more for spring!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visits and comments-- you are precious to me--
Vicki
Hi Vicki! I think that I sent you back a reply that should have gone to someone else. So sorry about that. Just delete that one and this here is the real one! LOL.
DeleteI was just over to your blog a few minutes ago and got the address for the pink scarf project. Will be sending one that I bought and one that I made right along. What a thoughtful thing to do.
This cherry tree is one of the first trees to bloom every year and I always look forward to it. I'm already for spring myself and winter down here isn't even bad.
Keep up the wonderful work you're doing over at your blog. I have met so many wonderful ladies from your "Grow Your Blog" party. Thank you so very much.
Come back soon.

Hi Wilma and welcome to my blog. I want you to know that I went over to visit you and don't know an awful lot about joining circles and all. I did open a new circle called "Stitching Sisters" and you're the first one to be there! I hope I did it correctly!
ReplyDeleteThis cherry tree is the first tree to blossom in our area and it is just loaded with color this year. Before I know it though, the blossoms will start dropping and the color will be gone, so I'm thankful for it now.
You take care of that cold you have. I'll be back to visit you and hope you'll be back here soon as well. Thank you for joining in to follow me. Looking forward to becoming good friends.
