Growing and Stitching

Welcome my sweet friends and followers.  We are so loving this weather! We haven't had to use the AC or the heat at all for a couple of weeks now and it if this time of year turns out to be the normal for this area, we probably won't have to use either for another month.  The nights and mornings are cool so we can sleep with the windows open.  No need for a sweater or jacket during the day at all.  So pleasant.  I do hope that you're all enjoying cooler weather.
I see I have a couple of new followers and I want to welcome them.  First of all, there is Babs from Alabama! So glad you're here Babs and I can hardly wait to check out all your blogs.  I have been over to  Babs stitching & stuff and I love it! Ya'll check it out.  She's a lovely lady.  There is also September at "SeptemberStitchesblogspot.com".  Unfortunately, when I went over to her blog I got the message that the blog was gone.  I do hope, September, that you get it up and running again.  Welcome to you both and I hope you visit often.
Now for the growing!  Remember I posted a picture a week or so back of our tiny garden? Just enough for Mr. Bill (sweet hubby)  and I.  Here is that picture again

Took another picture of it just a few minutes ago and here it is below.  Looking good I'd say.

The berries on my Beauty Berry Bush are getting bigger and again, I simply love the color of the berries! When you're actually right there looking at them, there seems to be a sheen on them.  Very pretty.

Mr. Bill is doing so good since his shoulder surgery.  Went back for his scheduled doctor's appointment today, and the doctor was thrilled.  No need for the usual physical therapy for Mr. Bill.  Bill has been exercising his shoulder sensibly on his own and it's paying off.  He's been doing a little outside work and made this wind chime for the back yard also.  It's nothing fancy at all, but I love wind chimes of all kinds, and this is a neat idea.  Yes! Those are just plain old tin cans!

I've started on the piece that I wanted to make for my son and his sweet lady.  Wedding is May 18th. of next year, so I have plenty of time.  It's a Lizzie Kate design and I'm enjoying the stitch for sure.

I'm looking forward to an arts show in downtown New Bern tomorrow morning.  This is the type of show that I always find a few special pieces of pottery or jewelry to put away for Christmas gifts.  I love picking this little pieces  up.  Will probably squeeze a lunch in on our way home.  New Bern is within 20 miles, so it isn't a long trip at all, but I'll get a lunch or dinner out of any trip if I can!
Do want to let you go for this time around.  Love all of you and love it when you stop in to visit.  Feel free to leave a comment.  I've made it easier for all to do so by removing the code word musts and all.  Please stay well and stay safe and don't forget to "feel the colors".

    1. Hi Cynthia and thank you for stopping by. The wind chime is indeed quite unique, and I love it when we do get a breeze in the backyard and I can hear them.

      You have a great weekend.

  2. So glad to hear Mr. Bill is doing well. I am envious of your temps out that way- we still have our AC on, but it's not kicking in quite as often. It's been pretty hot here the past couple of days. I am also jealous you are so close to New Bern. I love that town! :) Your WIP is looking lovely as is your garden!

  3. Hi Tracey! Thank you for stopping in. How do you know about New Bern and when was the last time you were there? It's such a pretty little town and everyone is so friendly. We even enjoy getting a block or two away from the town center and just looking at the tree lined streets and the beautiful older homes. Lovely indeed.

You have a great weekend Tracey and come back soon.

    1. Good afternoon Merry and thank you for stopping in. The chimes were very easy to make and they do indeed work. Chime? No! Rattle with the breeze? Yes! I love them.

You have a wonderful rest of the week.
