Started off at 40 degrees this morning at seven, but it has been gradually warming up and the sun feels good. If you work outside just for a few minutes you find that you need to get that sweatshirt off for sure. Sky is a beautiful blue and clear. A beautiful Monday.
We've been quite busy for the last few days since my little daughter-in-law has taken ill. A kidney stone has been causing her so much pain and she goes today for some pr/op things and Thursday they plan on putting in a stent in hopes that it will allow the stone to pass down to the next area. Where it is now, they can't remove it. So we've helped out some with Matthew. We really enjoy having him over and he'll be all grown before we know it for sure.
Since the last post, I found when I was doing the very last Hardanger embroidery square on my piece, that I was two threads short. Ugh! So I started checking and double checking each and every square and did find two mistakes. So out of the total of 211 squares, I had to take out and redo 126! I was so excited about finishing up the stitching and then being able to do the cut outs. Oh well. I'll get back there and have already gotten about 20 of the squares done. So it's just a matter of time.
I mentioned also in the post that I was going to clean out the front garden and would take some before and after pictures. This is just a small area where other than a couple of rose bushes and a huge cactus, I put in my herbs. The summer was so hot and humid this year that I didn't get out like I normally would to weed and all, so it really got way over grown.

Well enough of that! You can see that a good part of the ground is bare now, but I do have the Egyptian Onions still there and growing still. My Salad Burnett is growing like crazy. Still have some Basil and Sorrel, so all is good. The Rosemary Shrub which was probably six inches high when I put it in years ago, is now approximately four feet high by five across, and the Bay Leaf shrub will be brought in for the winter. At least put in the shed. We'll see.
Today I more or less have off! I plan on stitching, stitching and stitching! Will put in a few more boxes on "GiGi" and think I'll work on the wedding piece for my son and his sweet Lisa.

Hi Melissa and welcome! I'm so sorry that I didn't mention you in my last post, but didn't see your picture up there with the rest of my followers. For sure you will be mentioned in my next post. Want everyone to know about your lovely blog. By the way......The pictures of your kitchen creations look so good. When we did mission work in Haiti, we found that squash soup was a very special treat. That's where we first had it and loved it. Then we had a visitor at our home church who was from Haiti, so we invited him over to our home for dinner and we made sure that squash soup was one of the treats.
