Happy Monday

A beautiful, warm, sunny and clear morning here in eastern NC.  It feels so good to walk outside and breathe the clean air and to listen to the birds.  The camellias are in bloom big time right now and it still amazes me when I think about being in a zone where plants actually bloom this time of year.  We came here from NH mind you, so we are still finding things out down here even after nine years.

Here's the finished hat I made for a little Christmas gift.  Believe me when I saw that this works up within just a few hours.  It isn't hard to do and it got me to working with double pointed needles.  First time in my 66 years and I have to say that it wasn't all that bad.  I think now, I won't turn patterns down simply because I have to work with them.  Of course I realize that I may change my mind after I try them with casting on and all.  We'll see.  Anyway! Here's the hat and I love the colors.

I did do some stitching on the redbird Christmas gift.  Picture could be brighter but I'll do better on the finish picture.  Here is where it's at now though.

Very close to starting the bird actually.  It does move along quickly.  Just need to give it more of my time.

Last of all, I started a winter scarf for my son up in NH.  I used to knit the boys sweaters, mittens and hats all the years they were growing up, but haven't knitted for either for years now.  So this will be one of his gifts this Christmas.

Again.  The photography leaves a lot to be desired! It's actually black and charcoal gray!

We had a great weekend here.  Wonderful church service and a concert at church last night with Elaine and Derwin Hinson from Derwin Hinson Ministries.  Excellent music and Derwin is quite the comedian as well.

I still can't believe that I am finally growing Christmas cacti! All I had to do was put them outside to get some late afternoon sun and they are loaded with buds.  For sure I'll be posting some pictures of these little beauties soon.

For now my dear friends and followers, I will let you go.  So glad you stopped in and keep in mind that it's easy to leave a comment now.  I got rid of all the stupid codes and all.  Love to each of you.  Until next time, stay well and safe and remember to "feel the colors".

    1. Thank you so much Melinda. It was amazing to me how quickly the hat worked up and the colors I used were the ones the pattern called for. The young lady that it will be given to has beautiful blue eyes, so I think the colors are perfect!

Thank you so much for becoming a new follower and stop in again soon.
