A Thank You and a New Start

Though I'm still sore from the accident and all, I can tell that I'm healing, and just wanted to thank you all for the wonderful comments of thoughts and prayers during this time.  God is so good and He has slowed me down for a bit to appreciate all that He has given.  Thank you to all my dear followers and friends.  You all mean so much to me.

I made Matthew a message board for his room at the hospital that he's in.  Never thought to take a picture of it, but it did indeed come out great.  Used foam filled poster board and an old towel to pad the top.  Covered it with an antique looking blue with white stars material and used red and white ribbon to hold the notes and all.  I talked to him last night and he thought it was perfect.  He's settling into the facility now and feels that he can do whatever he needs to do there.  Please keep him in your prayers.  This is a facility that we're hoping will help him live a more normal life with the aspergers and all.  The first few days were so hard for him being away from home and all.

I've started the "Home of a Needleworker Too" piece and love the colors.  I haven't put away my "Quaker Diamonds" but felt that something that needed a little less concentration while I heal up would be good.  So far.......

I've done it again! I decided that the piece "Promise Me" would be perfect for Matthew as well as another grandson.  So I just sent in the order for it over at 1-2-3.  What can I say? It was calling me name!

     Pictures from my gardens.

Lots of little biting and stinging things on the flowers this year, but everything looks so pretty.  Need to clean some areas out real good and will do that on cooler days.

Thank you for stopping by.  It feels so good to be home and back into a routine.  Though it's a little slow going right now, I do love it!

Until next time, please, please take care and stay well.  Ya'll mean so much to me.  Remember to "feel the colors".

  2. I'm happy to hear you are healing! I didn't know you had been injured - hopefully nothing too serious! I will also keep your Matthew in my thoughts and prayers and hope that he is settling into the facility.

    1. Oh yes Kevin. Was involved in a four car accident in Hartford, CT on our way home from my son's wedding. I was the only one hurt in the whole thing and was taken by ambulance to the hospital and kept over night. Have bruised ribs and a broken sternum! It could have been so much worse. A woman two cars in front of us came to a dead stop in the passing lane. This was going 65 miles per hour! It was frightening to say the least. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers for Matthew. He's doing a little better now, but still has about three and a half months to go.

Thank you so much for stopping by Kevin. I love "trying" to keep up with what you're working on and what you've ordered and all. You're a great inspiration.

    1. The yellow flower is from the Prickly Pear Cactus, and each flower is about five inches across. The deer love the fruit in the fall and through the winter!

I am on the mend for sure. Feeling a little better each day.

  4. I am glad to hear that you are healing and being patient in the process. My heart goes out to you and your family. I have a nephew with Asperger's and his brother was severely autistic. The challenges are great. Thankfully God is greater!

    1. God is indeed greater and we have put Matthew in Hands. We've always prayed for guidance and direction as well as understanding for Matthew. A cure? Yes, but mostly that He allows Matt to be all he can be.

  9. So happy to hear you are on the mend. We all find it difficult to slow down when we need to and let our bodies catch up to what we want to get done! Take your time to smell the flowers...you sure have a lot of beautiful ones!
