Loving My Herb Garden

I've always enjoyed fresh herbs as I'm sure many of my followers do as well.  I have to say though that this year, my herb garden is doing fantastic!  I put in a few herbs that I hadn't tried growing before, and they're filling right out and growing tall.  I love going into the small garden to pick a little of this and a little of that to use in the preparation of a meal.  Just tonight I used some Rosemary, Curly Leaf Parsley and some Sage.  Even though my Egyptian Onion isn't an herb, it does have its place in the garden, as I use that in many dishes.  What's really neat also, is that nothing seems to bother the herbs.  No deer.  No bugs.  They smell great too.  Here's a couple of pictures of the garden.  First a before and then a couple showing what it looks like now.

And now.

Now is a good time to tell you that there was indeed one thing that did bother the garden, but we have some mighty smart cats in the neighborhood.  Since the sign has been put up, they stay away from my garden! Don't get me wrong.  I love cats, but don't like working in their poop!

I've been enjoying my stitching for sure.  Just love this piece and it's working up quickly.  Have 20 hours into it now.

I'm also working on another scarf.  Something easy to do when I'm feeling that it's getting late or that I only have a few minutes to work on something.  This one is quite colorful for sure.

God continues to amaze me when I'm outside just puttering.  I love Queen Anne's Lace, and yes, I know that it's looked at as a weed by many.  Just a wild flower by many as well, but I've had it in my gardens for years and I still think it's beautiful.  I just can't imagine how many individual flowers there are in each larger one.  Just look at these!

Thank you all who are keeping my grandson, Matthew in prayer.  He's adjusting well and is quite proud that he is at level two now at the hospital.  He now gets to go off the campus with his mom and dad when they go up to Virginia to visit him.  They are trying to go every weekend, and I call and talk to Matthew every night.  Of course he wants to be home, but he's doing well and knows that there are things that he needs to learn and things he needs to practice.  Aspergers in not fun for anyone.  It's hardest on the one afflicted with it more than anyone else though.

I am doing real well.  Still sore but getting so much better every single day.  Thank you again for all the prayers and words of encouragement.  You all mean so much to me.  We have another car.  Not new but a nice upgrade with only 45,000 miles on it.  One previous owner.  A great car.  Came along just at the right time too.  Our neighbor across the street lost his mom just a few weeks back and this was her car.  He drove it here and was thinking about keeping it for himself.  Then we had the accident and he decided that he would sell it to us if we were interested.  God's timing is so perfect.

Oh! One last thing before I let ya'll go.  Here's some of our first fruits from our little veggie garden.  Colorful and good for what ails you for sure! We have tons of green tomatoes also, and I can't imagine what we're going to do when they all ripen! I can hardly wait though and there are a few that look like they're starting to turn now.

So now I am indeed going to let you go and please stay well and safe.  You all mean a lot to me.  Until next time, don't forget, to "feel the colors".

  1. Love your little herb garden. It's very pretty.
If that "no cats pooping" sign works, I need a few as our neighbor's cat loves our garden.
Always nice to get those first veggies.
Nice find on the car too.
